ABUJA – By Akeem Oyetunji After long wait by dignitaries at the Kaduna International Airport, Kaduna, the presidential jet carrying President Muhammad Buhari finally landed this morning (Friday) at 07.41hours.
Prompt News learnt that as early as 04.00 hours, top government functionaries at the state and federal levels had gathered at the airport awaiting the arrival of the President.
Also on hand to receive him were GOC 1st Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army as well as top Secret and regular police officers.
As soon as the plane landed, the President was moved into a waiting Chopper that airlifted him straight to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where Ministers and other top government officials have been waiting at the Aso Rock Helipad to receive him.
Prompt News recalls that President Buhari left the country for United Kingdom on January 19 on a 10-day vacation during which presidential aide said he would look after his health.
However, a day to his scheduled return precisely on February 5, presidential media adviser, Femi Adesina, issued a statement that the President had written to the National Assembly extending his vacation indefinitely until when his doctors certify him fit to return to the country.
But while away, President Buhari delegated presidential powers to his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, who was designated an Acting President during the period.
