Kano Pillars Chairman, Abba Yola, has distanced himself from the act of financially inducing referees and match officials during league matches.
Speaking with Prompt News Online in Abuja, Yola said that club owners were not happy with what is happening in the league regarding match officials and allegation of bribery.
“That is a matter of discuss I don’t know because I am not one of them. I believe that club owners are not really happy with what is happening as far as the league itself is concerned. No, we don’t give them money because the LMC takes care of their indemnities. I will never do that even if they are doing it, I am not part of it and I don’t know how they are doing it.
“The basic thing is that if there is a taker there must be a giver, I quite agree but believe me in all our club owners meeting we have been trying to plug this issue out. We have been trying to tell ourselves that if we don’t give nobody will take.
“So, we should try as much as possible to be clean from our own side and I think that club owners have resolved that they want to really be on top of the league and all this nonsense about what you are saying will have to stop because I believe that we cannot go anywhere without arresting this kind of thing. The club owners have resolved and are focused on making sure that all these things are done away with,” Yola said.
