By Olusegun Lawrence For campaigning against immunity for Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, who chairs the House Committee on Appropriation has incured the wrath of the leadership.
On Wednesday, Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, relieved Jibrin of his plum post.
Dogara, who announced his removal at the plenary session, immediately announced Hon Mustapha Bala Dawaki (APC, Kano) as replacement.
Prior to his new portfolio, Dawaki chaired the Committee on Housing.
Prompt News Online recalls that Jibrin was a leading figure in the anti-immunity campaign when it was debated at plenary last week.
Jibrin went as far as displaying placard at plenary with the inscription “No to immunity’.
He had also being accused of allocating projects worth over N4 billion to his Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State, in a controversial manner.
