ABUJA – The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rose from its expanded national caucus meeting on Thursday, resolving to move the party forward.
Senator Ahmed Makarfi, who chairs the Caretaker Committee, presided over the meeting held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja.
To move the party forward, various issues concerning the party were discussed and the following decisions taken:
National Convention of the Party is to hold on the 17th of August, 2016 still in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
A Committee has been constituted to work out a new zoning arrangements for national offices with the consideration of the National Chairman zoned to the South having approved Zoning for Presidency to the North at the last National Convention.
A National Reconciliation Committee is also constituted to continue on the reconciliation efforts in the Party headed by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
