The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has slammed five-year ban on Chris Giwa and four of his lieutenants.
Others banned along with the proprietor of Giwa FC are: Muazu Suleyman, Yahaya Adama, Sani Fema and Johnson Effiong.
Giwa has been laying claim to the Presidency of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, relying on the Order of a Jos High Court.
The ban, according to CAF Secretary General, Hicham El Armani, was sequel to correspondence received from the NFF board led by Amaju Pinnick, informing CAF of the ban placed on Mr. Giwa and his associates for five years.
Consequently, CAF said it is extending the ban to the continental level.
The CAF letter addressed to NFF Boss Pinnick reads:
RE- CONVEYANCE OF SANCTIONS BY NFF DISCIPLINARY SANCTIONS EXTENSION AT THE CONTINENTAL LEVEL
Following your previous correspondence dated May 16th and subsequent exchanges, CAF has well noted the decision of the NFF’s Disciplinary Committee dated May 12th placing five(5) year ban from all football related activities for the following people.
Christopher Giwa
Muazu Suleyman
Yahaya Adama
Sani Fema
Johnson Effiong
Following receipt of the documentation and details on the case, CAF hereby confirms the extension of such sanctions at the continental level.
