The Federal University of Technology, Minna, will be graduating 34 First Class students, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji, has said.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday at the Main Campus of the University, Prof Akanji, said a total of 3,505 students will be graduating during the convocation for the 2014/2015 academic session.
“In the first degree category, 34 are in First Class, 733 are in the Second Class Upper Division and 1,308 in Second Class Lower Division. A total of 638 are in Third Class while 74 others have Pass degrees.
“We shall graduate a total of 3,505 students, out of which 2,787 will be graduating with first degree, 220 with Post Graduate Diplomas, 464 Masters and 34 Doctorate degrees,” he told newsmen.
Also, the Vice Chancellor assured that original certificates of graduands will be ready for collection immediately after the convocation ceremony.
He spoke further on the facilities available at the institution, “in our Centre for Open Distance and e-Learning (CODeL), we have facilities that allow a staff delivers lectures from wherever they are, globally and we shall scale up this very soon.
“The aspiration is to see that every communication in the University is done electronically.”
