Nigeria’s Senate has accepted and adopted the content of the executive communication from President Muhammadu Buhari over the amendment of 2016 budget proposal.
The letter from the President to the National Assembly was read at senate plenary on Tuesday.
President Buhari stated that the figures of the 2016 budget draft bill remains the same without any alterations except for a few amendments in the general principles of the document.
Senate President Bukola Saraki thanked the Senators for the patriotism demonstrated in adopting the amendments.
He said the debate on the general principle of the budget proposal will commence on Wednesday.
