By Harry Awurumibe Barring any last minute hiccup, Nigeria’s opponents in Saturday’s FIFA U- 17 Women’s World Cup qualifier match, Namibia will hit Abuja on Thursday.
Prompt News Online scooped that the Namibian contingent will arrive aboard the South African Airways 48 hours to the match which kicks off at the Abuja National Stadium by 4pm.
The 30-man contingent made up of 18 players, coaching crew and other officials have already secured their Nigerian visas from the Nigerian High Commission in Namibia.
Meanwhile, Flamingos chief coach Bala Nkiyu has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overrun the visitors on Saturday.
He said he has prepared his squad with the mind-set of picking a home victory no matter the opposition, adding that anything short of a clear win will not be acceptable to him.
According to the coach, “the Namibians will field 11players on the day and we will also present the same number of players so am very sure we shall beat them”.
Asked if he has any injury worries, Bala disclosed that his players are as fit as fiddle and are rearing to go.
