The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Isa Mohammed, for allegedly stabbing Salim Mohammed to death following a disagreement in the state.

The suspect, a resident of Abujan Kwata, Bauchi, was reportedly apprehended by operatives of the ‘A’ Division Township on Monday, October 19, a day after the incident.

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the alleged killing occurred on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

“The suspect allegedly stabbed one Salim Moh’d to death on 18th October, 2026, following a misunderstanding,” the statement read.

Habib said the suspect was tracked down and arrested at about 1:20 pm on Monday.

He added that Mohammed would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation and prosecution.

The arrest was among three major operations recorded by the command within 24 hours, involving alleged culpable homicide, armed robbery and drug trafficking.

In a separate operation, the police arrested a 22-year-old man, Zakariya’u Musa, over the alleged robbery of three secondary school students along Old Airport Road in the Gidan Gona area of Bauchi.

According to the police, Musa and two accomplices allegedly threatened the students with a knife before dispossessing them of two mobile phones valued at N50,000.

The suspect was arrested after the victims raised the alarm, while his alleged accomplices escaped.

The command said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

In another operation, officers arrested a 28-year-old woman, Sara Chikodi, at Bayan Gari, Bauchi, over alleged drug trafficking.

The police said 10 sachets of dried leaves suspected to be Colorado or Indian hemp, alongside a quantity of methamphetamine, popularly known as ice, were recovered from her.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the officers for their swift response and acknowledged members of the public for providing timely information that aided the operations.
