Nigeria’s Super Eagles could host Tanzania’s Taifa Stars at the newly renovated Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos in their Matchday Three fixture of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Lagos-based stadium recently underwent renovation ahead of the National Intermediate Games, raising the possibility of it hosting the senior national team’s upcoming home fixture.
According to BSN Sports, the Super Eagles may adopt the venue for the encounter against Tanzania, although the proposed move is subject to approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Nigerian national team have played their recent home matches at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Other Nigerian venues approved by CAF to host international matches include the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne and the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
A possible switch to Teslim Balogun Stadium would give Lagos fans an opportunity to watch the Super Eagles at home, provided the venue receives the necessary approval from CAF.
