Terem Moffi has expressed his happiness after helping Hamburg secure a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Hoffenheim.
Hamburg appeared destined for defeat after falling 2-1 behind with just seven minutes left on the clock.
However, the Nigerian forward came to his side’s rescue, scoring a crucial equaliser to bring them back into the contest.
Moffi, who was introduced in the 76th minute in place of Martin Adeline, found the net seven minutes later to register his first goal since joining Die Rothosen in the summer.
Miro Muheim then completed Hamburg’s remarkable comeback, netting a stoppage-time winner to hand Merlin Polzin’s men all three points.
Speaking after the game, Moffi expressed his delight at making a decisive contribution to the victory, while also applauding Muheim for providing the cross that led to his goal.
“We are very proud. I’m happy that I was able to help the team with my goal. Miro’s cross was a truly wonderful cross,” he told the club’s official website.
“All I had to do was get myself into position. After that, I had the feeling that we still had a chance to win the game. We succeeded in doing that in the last minute.
“It’s an extraordinary feeling to see how many HSV fans have set out to watch the game here. Crazy! We are grateful to each and every one of them for coming.”
