Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has appointed Bright Osehai Ozebagbe and Deniran Ortega as assistant coaches of Nigeria’s U-23 national team, the Olympic Eagles.
Ozebagbe is currently the technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League side Ikorodu City and is regarded as one of the promising coaches in the domestic game.
Ortega, meanwhile, is a UEFA-licensed coach who received his coaching education through the Scottish Football Association.
He is also part of the Flying Eagles technical crew, where he serves as an assistant coach.
The Olympic Eagles are expected to open camp in Abuja soon as preparations begin for the qualifying series for the men’s football event of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
Nigeria last featured in the Olympic football tournament at the Rio 2016 Games, where the team won the bronze medal.
The U-23 Eagles will begin their qualification campaign in the second round in November, where they are scheduled to face either Mauritania or the Democratic Republic of Congo.
