Nasarawa Amazons were crowned champions of the 2026 Nigeria Women’s President Federation Cup after edging Heartland Queens 6-5 on penalties in a thrilling final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Saturday.
The victory earned the Lafia-based club their third President Federation Cup title, adding to their previous triumphs in 2005 and 2019.
Heartland Queens, making their first-ever appearance in the final, broke the deadlock just a minute into the second half through Johnson Chizoba.
Nasarawa Amazons responded in the 69th minute when substitute Judith Adaobi found the equaliser to bring her side back into the contest.
With neither side able to find a winner in regulation time, the match was decided by a penalty shootout.
Nasarawa Amazons held their nerve from the spot, converting six of their kicks to secure a 6-5 shootout victory after Heartland Queens scored five.
Attention will now shift to the men’s final, where El-Kanemi Warriors will take on Ikorodu City for the 2026 President Federation Cup title.
