By Mohammed Yangida, Lafia Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has inaugurated 15 newly special Advisers and four Permanent Secretaries.
Inaugurating the Advisers on Wednesday in Lafia, the state capital the governor tasked them to acquaint themselves with Financial Regulations and Public Procurement Act particularly the permanent secretaries, so as to ensure budgetary discipline and prudence in the management of public resources.
He pointed out that the only way to bring about the desired growth and development in the society was to adhere strictly to the oath of office and the regulations in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He equally urged them to imbibe the philosophy of Change that is the cardinal principle of APC Administration
“You are to key into principles of accountability, transparency, financial discipline, due process in carrying out government business “he added.
The Governor also directed that henceforth, all Advisers will equally participate in the state executive council meetings, saying the measure was to ensure the harmonization ideas between commissioners and Advisers.
“From now on, I consider my Special Advisers as bonafide members of my cabinet because this is a legacy team.”
Those inaugurated were Mallo Akawu, Engr. Moses Utondo, Joseph O Ogiri, Akala Samuel Gajere, Musa Dangana Giza others are Mohammed Wada Yahaya,and Rayyan Iliyasu ,also includes Mohammed Bashir, Hajara Danyaro,Ibrahim Danladi Adamu, David Ogwele Attahiru Aliyu Ayewe, Ahmed Mohammed the remaining two persons were not sworn due to health challenges.
The permanent secretaries were Mohammed Darda’u Musa,Aminu Mohammed Abgo, Ibrahim Bala Galadima as well as Mohammed Iliyasu Idde.
Responding on behalf of the newly appointed Advisers, Mohammed Ahmed commended the Governor for founding them fit to be appointed and assured him that they will key into mission and vision of Governor Al-makura
