President Muhmmadu Buhari has been enjoined to remain resolute and committed to his campaign promises just as he was commended for the swearing -in of Ministers who will work with him in repositioning the country towards the direction of the desired change.
The Foundation for the Victims of Child Abuse, VCAF, in a statement issued on Thursday by its Board of Trustees’ Vice Chairman, Professor Tajudeen Akanji, particularly lauded the appointment of Gen. Abdulrahman Danbazau (rtd) as the Minister for Interior and Professor Isaac Adewole as the Minister for Health.
According to the statement, “There is no doubt that Gen. Danbazau will use his wide military and global experience as a former Chief of Army Staff to bring to fore the much anticipated reforms in the interior sector of the economy to further facilitate more opportunities for Nigeria as a nation and the youths as major stakeholders.
“He is a gallant, fearless and complete detrabalised Nigerian whose thirst for integrity and honesty in national assignments is worth emulating as a panacea for combating corruption, misappropriation and mismanagement of public office.
“As a renowned Gynecologist and immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Adewole without mincing words will explore his professional and leadership endowments to sustain the tempo of eradicating health challenging issues such as Ebola, Polio as well as Measles among children. He will also use his experience to lay to rest incessant strikes in the Health sector.”
Professor Akanji however expressed hope that the Presidential team will assist in salvaging the sinking ship of the nation from its disastrous status for the good of the entire citizenry especially the downtrodden.
He further noted that as a foundation, VCAF will continue to compliment government efforts in finding succor for the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, Victims of Child Abuse, Indigent Students, Rural Communities as well as the nation at large at all times.
While commending the President for his initiatives, the statement however advised the newly appointed Ministers to be committed to nation-building policies even as it urged Nigerians to always support them with positive actions and prayers.
