Forty-two candidates have been cleared ahead of the Governorship elections slated for November 21 in Kogi and December 5 in Bayelsa states.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made the announcements in its bulletin on Monday.
According to the commission’s bulletin, the list of cleared candidates were published by INEC and signed by Farouk Usman the commission’s acting Secretary.
The bulletin stated that 22 candidates with their running mate from 22 registered political parties would contest the poll in Kogi.
For Bayelsa election, 20 candidates with their running mate from 20 registered political parties have been cleared.
In Kogi state, Abubakar Audu and his running mate James Faleke, are the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi while Capt. Idris Wada and his running mate Abayomi Awoniyi would fly the PDP flag.
Governor Seriake Dickson of the PDP and his running mate, Rear Adm. Gboribiogha Jonah (rtd) would run in Bayelsa while the APC would field former Governor Timipre Sylva and Wilberforce Igiri, as governorship candidate and running mate respectively.
