The Rivers State Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the elections of 21 members of the State House of Assembly including the Speaker, Owaji Ibani.
There are 32 members in the state House of Assembly.
In its ruling, the Tribunal said cases of irregularities, violence and other electoral malpractices were established hence, the decision to nullify the elections of the lawmakers.
Consequently, the Tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh elections to fill the vacant seats.
Prompt News recalls that the Tribunal had on Saturday, nullified the election of the State Governor, Nyesom Wike of the PDP and ordered INEC to conduct fresh governorship election in the state.
