Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi emerged Sunday as Oba Okunade Sijuwade’s successor as the new Ooni of Ife.
Oba Sijuwade, died in a London Hospital on July 28, 2015, aged 85.
The Secretary to the Osun State Government, Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, announced the appointment of the new Ooni in a statement released late Sunday.
He stated that the appointment has been ratified by the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
“This choice follows the completion of the due process by the kingmakers and the communication of their decision to the Government,” the terse statement reads.
