Nollywood actress and mother of three, May Edochie, recently revealed her new role as an ambassador for Meet Surrogate Mothers, a company that supports women and couples facing infertility challenges.
In a promotional video, she encouraged those struggling to consider surrogacy as a hopeful option.
However, her announcement sparked controversy when a social media user known as Callmemmy responded with mocking remarks.
He compared May to Judy Austin, the current wife of May’s ex-husband, and claimed that Judy had given birth to May’s ex-husband’s child.
Supporters of May Edochie quickly defended her, praising her for handling the criticism with grace.
Many fans condemned the negative comments, denouncing the unfounded attacks against her.
At the same time, some users directed criticism towards Judy Austin, accusing her of having children with multiple partners.
Others pointed out that May appeared to be subtly addressing her ex-husband’s wife, who has recently had several children in quick succession, suggesting May could help other women through surrogacy.
The drama comes shortly after Yul Edochie, May’s ex-husband, and Judy Austin celebrate the arrival of their newborn, receiving widespread congratulations.
Despite some online mockery over May’s past marriage, her lawyer has stood firmly by her side, urging fans to support her quest for justice after her separation from the actor.
