Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon head coach Claude Le Roy has picked the  Super Eagles of Nigeria among the favourites to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles will face North African powerhouse Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania in Group C at the competition.

The three-time champions faltered at the last hurdle around a year ago,   losing 2-1 against hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final.

Le Roy believed they can still challenge for the title again in Morocco.

“Senegal, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Algeria… Egypt is always a formidable opponent in this competition,” he told LeSitelnfo

“We must also be careful with South Africa, which continues to progress thanks to a very good coach. Cameroon is also one of the competitors who are always difficult to beat.”

Eric Chelle’s side will face the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in their opening fixture in Fez on Tuesday, December 23.
