The Ogun State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for a man identified as Jonah and his unknown girlfriend, who are accused of fatally stabbing Chinese national, Chen Wang, in his office.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 12, at Fujiada Electronics Technology Company Ltd., located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident to reporters in Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to Odutola, the 33-year-old expatriate, who served as the company’s manager, was attacked in his office around noon.
The company’s manager, Akosile Akinsanmi, promptly reported the crime to the Ogere Police Division after discovering the attack.
It was revealed that while the employees were on their routine break, Jonah and his girlfriend entered Wang’s office, where they allegedly stabbed him to death before fleeing the scene.
Odutola stated, “Around noon on January 12, during the workers’ break, a man named Jonah, whose last name remains unknown, and his unidentified girlfriend, both of whom are still at large, entered Chen Wang’s office and fatally attacked him.”
Police detectives from the Ogere Division conducted an investigation at the crime scene, taking photographs of the deceased.
Wang’s body was subsequently transferred to Babcock University Teaching Hospital for a postmortem examination.
An initial investigation is underway, and the case will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a more thorough inquiry.
