The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi, has urged party members to stay united to ensure the party’s success in the 2025 local government elections in the state.
Speaking during a victory celebration and thank-you visit organized by the Badagry Independent Campaign Council Coordinator, Ibrahim Layode, who is also the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ojelabi emphasized the importance of unity within the party.
He noted that following President Bola Tinubu’s ban on the Mandate and Justice Forums factions within Lagos APC, it is crucial for all members to come together for the party’s advancement.
Ojelabi further announced plans to set up a disciplinary committee to enforce party rules, stating that any member unwilling to comply should feel free to withdraw their membership.
The APC chairman also urged members to regularly attend ward and local government meetings, which remain the official gatherings of the party.
He encouraged those who have not registered or lost their voter cards to take immediate action to do so.
Assuring members of fairness in the upcoming council elections, Ojelabi stated, “We will ensure a level playing field for all in the primaries. The candidate with the most votes will be announced once the results are in.”
