Former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has said Ademola Lookman deserved to be named Africa’s best player for 2024.
Lookman succeeds his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, who won the award last year.
Peseiro claimed Lookman’s Impressive performance for club and country this year makes him a deserving winner.
“I think Lookman’s victory is deserved given his performances both for Atalanta, his club, and for his country, Nigeria,”the Portuguese told Sportitalia.
Peseiro also praised Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini for his role in the winger’s development.
“I think giving Lookman the freedom to move around has allowed him to show his quality, both in terms of decision making and execution,”he added.
” Of course the club and Gasperini have provided Lookman with the environment to grow as a player in all aspects.”
