Nigeria midfielder Obinna Nwobodo has signed a new one-year contract at Major League Soccer (MLS) club, FC Cincinnati.
The 28-year-old’s contract expired at the end of the season, but FC Cincinnati have now triggered the one-year option in the contract.
“FC Cincinnati have exercised the contract options on Obinna Nwobodo, Miles Robinson and Sergio Santos. The club also exercised the contract option on Álvaro Barreal, who is on loan at Brazilian side Cruzeiro Esporte Clube until December 31, 2024,”reads the statement.
The former Flying Eagles star linked up with FC Cincinnati from Turkish club, Goztepe in 2022.
The playmaker has made 80 appearances and scored twice for the club.
Nwobodo is the highest earning Nigerian star in the MLS.
