Brazilian club Botafogo has completed the 32-team roster for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup slated for United States of America (USA) in the summer of 2025 after it beat Atletico Mineiro to win its first Copa Libertadores title, in Buenos Aries, Argentina on Sunday.
Prompt News reports that the tournament which will take place in 12 stadia in 11 cities of USA from June 15 to July 13, 2025 will bring together the most successful 32 club sides from each of the six football confederations namely Asia (AFC); Africa (CAF); North/Central America & Caribbean (Concacaf); South American (CONMEBOL); Oceania (OFC) and Europe (UEFA).
Among the notable clubs participating in the tournament are European giants Real Madrid of Spain, Chelsea FC of England and four top African clubs including Africa champions Al Ahly of Egypt, Wydad Casablanca, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Esperance Tunis of Tunisia as well as 2022 Concacaf Champions Cup club, Seattle Sounders of USA and Inter Miami CF of USA.
