Chairman House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu has congratulated the Nigeria senior national team, the Super Eagles for securing qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Prompt News reports that the Super Eagles qualification was confirmed on Thursday after Libya defeated Rwanda 1-0 in Kigali to guarantee Nigeria one of the top two spots in their Group.
According to Amadu, who represents Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from Zamfara state said “the early qualification of the team is a testament to the quality of the team and how determined the players have been since the start of the Qualifiers.
“This is really very good for Nigeria and I want to thank the players and the coaches for a job well done and for showing that reaching the AFCON final earlier this year was not a fluke.
“We must also give kudos to the NFF for how they have managed the team without any chaos or crises throughout the qualifiers and it’s a testament to the good work the board is doing “.
“I think it’s now time for us to shift attention to the World cup Qualifiers and I am optimistic that the boys can turn things around by winning all their remaining matches, especially with the quality we have in the team”.
Meanwhile the Super Eagles ensured it secured top spot in her Group, having already qualified for the AFCON, with a one all draw against Benin Republic in Abidjan, on Thursday night .
