Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman finished in 14th position in the Ballon d’or award for 2024, Prompt News reports.
The award ceremony took place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on Monday night.
The Nigeria international is the only African in the 30-man shortlist.
The winger was recognised for his exemplary display for Nigeria and Atalanta.
Lookman shone for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring three goals in seven appearances.
The 27-year-old also scored a historic hat-trick in the final of the UEFA Europa League, with Atalanta claiming a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
The winger was last week nominated for 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.It would be recalled that Victor Osimhen finished in eighth position in the Ballon d’or last year.
