A teenager in the northern Bavarian town of Bamberg in Germany has landed in wastewater treatment pool while fleeing from police with his parents’ car.
He was driving with two friends.
He crashed through the gate of a sewage treatment plant and landed in the wastewater treatment pool.
The vehicle completely sank and the fire brigade had to recover it, the police said.
“The damage to the sewage treatment plant cannot yet be estimated, but it is likely to be considerable,’’ the police report said.
The young driver now faces criminal charges for several offences.
The teenager and his two friends were able to get out of the car.
The driver and a passenger were slightly injured.
A patrol car had wanted to check the car with the three teens in it in the city during the night, but the driver accelerated, lost control of the vehicle during the escape and came off the road, the police said.
The car then broke through the fence of the sewage treatment plant and landed in the wastewater treatment pool. (dpa/NAN).
