Super Falcons defender, Rofiat Imuran has sealed a move to English Women’s Championship club London City Lionesses.
Imuran arrived the Haye Lane after leaving French club Stade Reims.
The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year contract with London City Lionesses.
Head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur expressed his delight with the centre-back’s arrival.
“I have explained in the past that to develop this team we really wanted to focus on two profiles – experienced players who can lead and young players with huge talent and potential,” Prêcheur told the club’s official website.
“Rofiat fits into the second category. She already has brilliant experience and playing at the Under-20 World Cup was a wonderful opportunity for her to learn more. She’s very fast, left-footed, and likes to attack the space behind the defenders.
“Rofiat still needs to develop, but this is a very good opportunity for us to help her improve. She can play every position on the left and will contribute offensively this season.”
Imuran added:“I’m very excited to join London City Lionesses and start a new chapter in my career in England. Everyone has been so welcoming since I arrived and I look forward to being able to help the team on the pitch.
“I wanted to come to London City because the coach presented an interesting project and I wanted a different challenge.”
