Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM) has called on music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido to release fellow singer, Dammy Krane, from Police custody, noting that he (Davido) is not an oppressor.
VDM alleged that Dammy Krane was arrested and detained by the Police at the behest of Davido.
VDM made these claims in an Instagram post on Wednesday, where he recounted an encounter at a police station.
In the video, VDM stated that he visited the station to express his gratitude to the police, who had assisted him in his work.
During his visit, a bystander reportedly mentioned that a celebrity with dreadlocks was being held in a cell.
However, upon further inquiry, VDM claimed to have discovered that the detainee was Dammy Krane.
He then said: “David Adeleke, Davido, you be my brother. You be my guy. And one thing I know about you is that you’re a jolly good fellow and you’re not an oppressor.
“I know you have been pushed to the wall, but you aren’t an oppressor.”
On how he discovered Dammy Krane at the station, VDM said: “After I got there, I told the policemen that I wanted to see one of the people in the cell.
“Only for the guy to come out, and I saw it was Dammy Krane. First of all, he wasn’t someone I wanted to see. He always insults me every time.”
He further elaborated on his interaction with Dammy Krane, who told him that Davido was responsible for his arrest.
VDM said: “I asked him why he was in prison. And he told me that it was Davido who put him there. I told him, ‘Why won’t he? You constantly attack him and his family unprovoked and without proof.
“‘You started off by saying that he owed you money and changed his name from OBO to OB owe, without proof’.”
He then appealed to Davido: “We all know how you have been pushed to the wall. How your family has been dragged.
“How he has defamed your brand without proof to the point of pinning the kpai (death) of your friend on you, all these allegations without proof.
“Davido, I know you are not an oppressor. Please, give him a second chance. Please. I will call you now.”
