The Nigerian Army, 6 Battalion Ibagwa, has urged residents of Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State not to panic as it has commenced the demolition of unserviceable ammunition and explosives at 6Bn Range Area.
The exercise, which starts today, Monday, August 19, 2024, is expected to last till Thursday, August 22.
This was contained in a statement by the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Adebowale Adejimi, on Monday titled ” Demolition of Unserviceable Ordinances.”
It reads, ” The demolition of unserviceable ammunition and explosives is scheduled to take place at 6 Bn Range Area in Abak LGA, from 19-22 August 2024.
“Consequently, the good people of Abak LGA are please requested to stay off the designated exercise area. They are also requested not to panic at the sound of explosives.
“They are also to note that adequate measures have been placed for safety and security at the range area and its environs.” (PUNCH).
