The Minister for Education, Professor Tahir Mamman has launched an expanded transformative scholarship program aimed at supporting close to 250,000 Students across Nigeria.
This significant initiative highlights the Federal Government’s commitment to broadening Educational access and advancing the academic and professional growth of Nigerian Youth.
In a recent meeting with the National Student Management Council, Professor Mamman detailed the scope of the program, which provides scholarships for both domestic and international Students. He encouraged Students to visit the dedicated scholarship website for updates.
Additionally, Professor Mamman outlined key initiatives by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including improvements in campus infrastructure, welfare packages for unemployed graduates, consideration of discounted electricity bills for Universities, and curriculum updates covering all sectors of Education under the DOTS Project.
In a statement by Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Folasade Boriowo, the DOTS framework aims to enhance educational data management, support and development for Teachers, skills infusion, and training from primary through tertiary education.
The government is also focusing on integrating Out-of-School children back into the education system and supporting job-seeking graduates. Furthermore, the Federal Government has established Safe School Centers to ensure the safety of Students.
Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, Permanent Secretary for Education, pledged to set clear timelines for the sustained implementation of these initiatives and to ensure their success. He also called for proper accountability from stakeholders .
The lead delegate, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, Comrade Asefon Sunday, expressed appreciation to the Minister for engaging with the Special Assistants to the Governors on Student matters from all States. READ ALSO:

In earlier contributions, the Special Assistants pledged to engage constantly with the Ministry and commit to promoting the public, youth, and Student empowerment policies, which are unprecedented in Nigeria’s history.
