Former international Samson Siasia claimed the absence of Victor Osimhen could spell doom for the Super Eagles in their upcoming games against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Osimhen has been ruled out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to injury.
The Napoli of Italy star striker was replaced by Remo Stars’ Sodiq Ismail.
Osimhen has shouldered goal scoring responsibility for the Super Eagles in recent years.
Siasia claimed the two games will be difficult for the Super Eagles without Osimhen.
“It will be difficult for the Super Eagles as they will be without a key player (Osimhen), and while South Africa will be coming with the same coach and players, we have a new coach,” Siasia was quoted by SCORENigeria.
The Super Eagles are winless in Group C and must beat South Africa and Benin Republic to get back into contention.
The West Africans will clash with Bafana Bafana in Uyo on Friday and then travel to Abidjan to face the Squirrels three days later. READ ALSO:
