Sone Aluko has quit active football following the expiration of his contract with Premier League new boys, Ipswich Town.
The former Nigeria international announced his retirement from the round leather game during Ipswich Town’s end of the season dinner.
The 35-year-old played a peripheral role for the Tractor Boys in the just concluded 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship season.
Aluko played for for clubs like Rangers, Aberdeen, Hull City, Fulham and Reading.
He also enjoyed a loan stint in China with Beijing Renhe.
“I couldn’t think of a better place to end my career,” he said.
“From top to bottom the Club is amazing, and it has been a privilege to be here. I’ve not played as much as I would have liked, but this has still been the best year of my career. READ ALSO:

Aluko represented England at youth level before switching international allegiance to Nigeria.
He scored twice in seven appearances for the Super Eagles.
