A Senior Magistrates’ Court in Gwagwalada, Abuja, has sentenced a 28-year-old housewife, Faith Felix to eight months in prison for pouring hot water on her co-wife.
The woman, who resides in Gosa Toge along airport road in the FCT, was convicted and sentenced for criminal force, assault and causing grievous hurt, to which she begged the court for leniency.
The Senior Magistrate, N.A. Turkur, who sentenced her to eight months imprisonment without option of fine, warned her to desist from committing such act and be of good behaviour.
Earlier, the prosecuting counsel, Dabo Yakubu, told the court that the complainant, Stella Jecus of same address reported the matter to the police on May 2.

Yakubu said that on the same day while the complainant was asleep, the convict intentionally poured hot water on her without any reason.
He told the court that during police investigation, the convict confessed to have intentionally committed the act.
Yakubu said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 267, 268 and 247 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
