Nigeria winger Nathan Tella has reacted to Bayer Leverkusen’s draw against West Ham United on Thursday night.
Both teams battled to a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie.
Newly crowned Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen sealed their place in the last four 3-1 on aggregate.
Xabi Alonso’s side are now unbeaten in 44 games across all competitions this season.
“We knew it would be a difficult place to come. In the first half, we did not play our best football, which won us the league and got us to the position, but we knew that we had to stick to our principles,” Tella told Ian Abraham after the game.
“Obviously, the manager said a bit at half-time to get us going again, and the second half was a different performance. We are able to get through, Jeremie scored the goal, and thankfully, we are through.”
Die Werkself will face AS Roma in the semi-final of the Europa League. READ ALSO:
