The Kalthum Foundation for Peace (KFP) has commended the troops of North East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, for their sacrifices, resilience, and dedication in combating Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the North East.
This is contained in a statement by the President of the Foundation, Amb. Ummu Kalthum Mohammed, on Thursday in Abuja.
Mohammed commended the Theatre Commander, OPHK, Maj.-Gen. Wahidi Shaibu, for his exceptional leadership and commitment to the well-being of his troops.
She said the foundation recognised the effectiveness of the non-kinetic strategies employed in the fight against insurgency, which she said had yielded significant successes under his leadership.
Mohammed urged all Nigerians, especially residents of the North East, to actively support military’s efforts by providing valuable information that could help to bring an end to the reign of terror in the region.
According to her, collaboration between the military and local communities is crucial in achieving lasting peace and security in the area.
“As a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting victims of insurgency and advocating for the rights of women and the less privileged in society, the KFP remains committed to promoting peace, unity, and development in Nigeria.
“We commend the troops for their bravery and dedication in the fight against terrorism.
“Our gratitude goes to Maj.-Gen. Shaibu for his exemplary leadership and we call on all Nigerians to stand together in support of our military to bring an end to the menace of insurgency,” she said. (NAN)
