Moses Simon will not play again this season following the injury he sustained in Super Eagles’ friendly against Mali on Tuesday night.
The Super Eagles lost the game played at the Grand Stade de Marrakech 2-0.
Simon collided with Mali goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa around the half hour mark.
The winger had to be stretchered off and was rushed to the hospital for further medical assessment following the incident.
His French club, FC Nantes confirmed on Tuesday that the player has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,” the club said in a statement.
“FC Nantes is already keen to provide its full support to its attacker and wishes him a speedy recovery!
