The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has commended the efforts of the state Police Command for arresting vandals of electrical installations belonging to the company at various locations in the state.
The Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf, made the commendation when he received the state Commissioner of Police, Hussein Gumel, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office .

Yusuf said the command had exhibited professionalism by apprehending the vandals who had been vandalising KEDCO property which resulted in shortage of power supply.
“We appreciate what the police are doing and insha Allah we will continue to partner with security agencies to overcome the issue of vandals, among other challenges.
The managing director thanked the commissioner for the visit and pledged to sustain the cordial relationship.
Gumel said the purpose of the visit was to commiserate with the management and staff of KEDCO over the recent fire incident that occurred at Dan’agundi substation.

He called for more power supply to all parts of the state to avert any evil plans by criminals, especially at dark places in the night.
“We have deployed more security personnel to be on ground at many places within the metropolitan because of lack of electricity in the major places and usually criminals use the advantage of lack of electricity to plan evil; we will not allow that to happen. (NAN)
