The Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has appointed Mr Chijioke Okonkwo as the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ESERC).
The governor also appointed Mr Chinedum Ukabara, Mr Chuka Akunne and Mr Ruben Okoye as commissioners in the commission.
The names were contained in a letter forwarded to the House, which was read by the Speaker, Chief Uche Ugwu, during an emergency plenary on Monday at the Assembly Complex in Enugu.
The Speaker then directed the nominees to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the clerk of the house and appear before the Assembly on Wednesday, March 13 for screening and confirmation.

The house passed for the first reading the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Amendment Bill.
The Speaker enjoined his colleagues to study the bill for a robust debate during its second reading on a later date. (NAN)
