Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has said the team did well to escape with a draw in their 2024 Olympic Games qualifier against Cameroon on Friday.
The former African champions held their hosts to a 0-0 draw at the Stade de la Reunification, Douala on Friday night.
Substitute Jennifer Echegini had a goal controversially chalked off for offside in the second half.
Plumptre claimed the Super Falcons can take a lot of positives from their performance.
“We will take it game by game. Obviously the target is to qualify for the Olympics. We have not been at the Olympics, I don’t know foe how long,” Plumptre stated during her interaction with the media after the game.
“So, we don’t look past the game we have now. The focus now is on Cameroon, obviously there are more qualifying games to come.
“We will put in a performance like we did today in the second leg Getting a draw is good. We didn’t get a win today but we will try and do that next time. READ ALSO:
