Enugu Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, on Sunday defeated Akwa United FC 1-0 in the matchday 20 of the Nigeria Professional Football League 2023/24 season.
The match played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu saw Rangers missed several scoring chances like thier Akwa United counterparts.
The first half of the encounter ended goaless as both teams could not find each others net.
On resumption in the second half, Kenneth Igboke put Rangers ahead with a direct shot from outside the 18 yard box.
Akwa United was awarded a well deserved penalty in the 60th minute which was lost.
All efforts by Rangers to increase the tally failed while on the other hand Akwa United’s effort to equalise proved abortive.

Speaking to Journalists after the match, Chief Coach of Rangers, Dani Suleiman described the performance of his team as not encouraging but thanked God that they picked the maximum points.
“Akwa United is a good team, they played very well but I am happy that we won, ” he said. (NAN)
