The Federal Polytechnic Daura, in Katsina State, has matriculated 625 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Speaking at the ceremony on Wednesday in Daura, Prof. Aliyu Mamman, the Rector of the polytechnic, said that the students would pursue National Diploma (ND) programmes in the two faculties of the institution.
Mamman said that the polytechnic had a total of 1,802 students in its 11 courses which were approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
“It is important that you face your studies, which is the reason for your coming to the polytechnic. Avoid bad company and remain focused to your education,” he said.
Mamman congratulated the new students for securing admission in the polytechnic in spite of the limited available space in the institution.
“I sincerely congratulate you the matriculating students and of course your parents for securing admission into various academic programmes of this most sought young and vibrant polytechnic,” he said.

The rector urged the students to strictly observe the school rules and regulations and be of good character, as well as dress decently.
He highlighted some of the feat achieved by the institution to include establishment of well-equipped library, students’ cafeteria and the senate building at the permanent site.
Mamman said that the management had also established the school of vocational education and skills acquisition and sports arena. (NAN)
