The Police Command in Lagos State says it has arrested two men, Augustine Egemoye (60) and Innocent Eremosele (35), for allegedly being in possession of 70 cartons of expired drugs.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a post he shared on his verified X handle “@benHundeyin” on Sunday.
Hundeyin said the suspects were arrested at about 5:40 p.m. on Saturday in the Okokomaiko area of the state.
“Yesterday, a patrol team from Okokomaiko Division stopped and searched a Volkswagen LT bus at Afromedia.
“Found in the bus were 70 cartons of Feed Fine Cyproheptadine Caplets 4g, all with expiry date of 2016,” he said.
He added that the suspects confessed they were taking the expired drugs from Alaba to someone who would change the expiry dates and thereafter proceed with the drugs to Port Harcourt to be sold.
