Victor Osimhen has conceded the Super Eagles are yet to reach their peak at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The three-time champions started the competition slowly, playing a 1-1 draw with the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea.
Jose Peseiro’s side have however won their last three games against Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau and Cameroon.
Despite the impressive results, Osimhen insisted that the Super Eagles have not played their best football in the competition.
“I cannot lie, we haven’t played the best of our football yet. I think the whole team has this mentality of winning, we want to win,” Osimhen told reporters.
“For me we are more like a family than just players. So for me it is important to have this mentality of winning.
“I want to give kudos to my defenders. They have been focused since the start of this competition. We also have a good goalkeeper [Nwabali]. We want to keep this momentum going.” READ ALSO:

The Super Eagles will take on the Palancas Negras of Angola in their quarter-final fixture on Friday.
