Kenneth Omeruo has expressed surprise with the performance Equatorial Guinea at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nzalang Nacional secured top spot in Group A, finishing ahead of Nigeria, after defeating Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau and securing a draw against the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles defeated Guinea-Bissau in their last group game on Monday.
Juan Micha’s men emerged as the top-scoring team at AFCON, netting ten goals in three games, including a remarkable 4-0 victory over Ivory Coast in their final group match.

” I won’t lie. I have a couple of friends there, and also in Spain, there are a lot of Equatorial Guineans there, and they are happy they are first (in Group A) ahead of Nigeria. But they have been fighting, and congrats to them.”
