Commandant Padonu Augustine has assumed office as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State.
This is contained in a statement in Ibadan on Wednesday by the state Command’s Public Relations officer, DSC Samuel Opebiyi.
Opebiyi stated that the Commandant took over from Commandant Michael Adaralewa, who had now been posted to Osun State Command of NSCDC.
He noted that Augustine, a native of Badagry in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, was enlisted into the service in 2005.
The command’s spokesman said that Augustine rose through the ranks with wealth of experience, expertise and had served in various departments and divisions within NSCDC.
Opebiyi said that Augustine while accepting the handover note and the mantle of leadership acknowledged the legacy of his predecessor and expressed his commitment to build on it.
“ Augustine, who emphasised on the importance of teamwork and collaboration, pledged to work with all personnel to strengthen the command’s efficiency and effectiveness in safeguarding the lives and property of the people of Oyo State,” he said.
Opabiyi further said that the outgoing Commandant Adaralewa encouraged the management team to prioritise the interests of the Corps above personal interests and called for support to the incoming Commandant. (NAN). READ ALSO:
