Ola Aina has expressed his desire to be a part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire.
The Nottingham Forest defender has played at the AFCON finals twice, 2019 in Egypt and two years ago in Cameroon.
Aina featured in five of Super Eagles’ seven games in Egypt 2019 and three out of four games in Cameroon.
The 27-year-old is expected to be named in the squad for AFCON 2023 can’t wait to play at the competition.
“It was good to have qualified. Everyone was happy and excited to be back for the tournament,”Aina told Premier League TV.
“The love I receive from the fans makes me feel good and I’m just happy to play for Nigeria and looking forward to the next one.”
Aina represented England at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria. READ ALSO:

He reflected on the decision; “It was just a decision I felt I needed to take. I knew Nigeria was looking for me and at that time I had not been playing internationally for different reasons and I just followed my heart at the end of the day, I wanted to play for Nigeria and I don’t regret it.”
