Former Super Eagles captain Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, believes Victor Osimhen deserves to win the 2023 CAF Player of the Year award.
Osimhen is one of the favourites to win the prestigious individual award.
Riyad Mahrez, Achraf Hakimi and Sadio Mane and Yaccine Bounou are the other top nominees.
Okocha stated that Osimhen has done well than the other nominees.
“He [Osimhen] deserves it because for me, he was the most consistent player of last season. He deserves it,” Okocha said during a Bundesliga media round table.
Osimhen led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years last season, scoring 26 goals. READ ALSO:

The winner will be revealed at the CAF Awards Gala on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
