Asisat Oshoala is on course to win a historic sixth CAF Women’s Player of the Year award following her inclusion in the final shortlist for the 2023 edition.
The Barcelona Femeni star was among the player announced in the final 10-woman’s shortlist by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday.
Oshoala won the award for a record fifth time in 2022.
Her compatriot Chiamaka Nnadozie also made the final shortlist.
Nnadozie is also in contention for the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Eight other players including Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa), Andile Dlamini (South Africa), Ajara Nchout Njoya (Cameroon) and Hilda Magaia (South Africa) also made the shortlist. READ ALSO:

Moroccan trio, Anissa Lahmari, Fatima Tagnaout ,
Ghizlaine Chebbak and Zambia’s Barbara Sanda were also included in the list.
The Awards Gala will take place on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
